A montrice is a care provider who acts as a doula, providing prenatal visits to help prepare birth plans and get you “ready” for birth. A montrice will provide emotional and physical support in labor but has the credentials and equipment to properly perform vaginal exams and assessment of the fetal and maternal wellness.

A montrice will labor with you at home, continuing to monitor vitals and FHT, running a chart for the findings, checking dilation, corresponding with your primary provider and informing families when she feels it’s “GO TIME”. Then they will move to the hospital for birth. The montrice will go to the hospital with the family (as long as she’s not due to labor with another client) and finish up care as a doula. If she is unable to go, she will call in another local doula to go in her place when possible.

  • This is a sliding fee scale. Please contact for more information.
