Emergency Referral Services
Your safety is our top priority - quick compassionate care with access to trusted professionals.
Monitoring for Complications
Regular visits with in depth observation during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum in order to detect any signs of complications such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, or hemorrhage. That includes the required lab testing, ultrasounds, BPP, and NST to be in my care.
Referral to Obstetricians or Adding Additional Midwives
If we experience a deviation from a “normal” birth experience such as breech presentation, or multiple gestation, we will need add on additional midwives to the birth team. That will be an additional fee added to your bill to cover additional team members needed.
If we discover maternal health issues developing that are not conductive to a safe out of hospital birthing experience, the LCPM will refer the client to an obstetricians/specialist for the transfer and continued care.
Transport for Hospital Care in Labor
In the rare event of an emergency requiring hospital transport, the CPM is trained to make appropriate arrangements and provide support during the transfer. We will cover this in our home visit at 36 weeks.
